On April 22 the U.S. House of Representatives voted, for the second time in less than a year, to make the Washington DC the 51st state, sending it to the Senate where it will face a vote(and likely not pass again).216-208, the Democratic-controlled House approved the initiative with no Republican vote for it.The population of Washington, D.C., is Mostly Democratic. would elect 2 democratic senaters and alter the balance of power in the Senate, which now has 50 Democrats and 50 Republicans.Democrats have been pushing the issue of statehood for DC for decades, Democrats say "more than 700,000 Americans citizens who pay federal taxes, who fight and die in wars, who serve on our juries and yet have no vote in the Senate or the House of Representatives," said Democratic Representative Jan Schakowsky. "That is the definition of taxation without representation." The new state would be named "Washington, Douglass Commonwealth" after George Washington, the first U.S. president, and Frederick Douglass, a former enslaved person who became a famous abolitionist.The U.S. Constitution provided for a federal district under the exclusive jurisdiction of U.S. Congress; the district is therefore not a part of any U.S. state (nor is it one itself). The signing of the Residence Act on July 16, 1790, approved the creation of a capital district.
We spent time outside the Whitehouse, BLM Plaza, and the US capital taking to Americans and asking them what they thought. Although most seemed for it there was still very different opinions on the issue

Armenian Volunteer/Humanitarian Aid war relief worker killed by Azerbaijan

The day the war ended Gogo called his son Sasun but someone Unkown answered and said I killed your Son" and ""I will kill you and your grandchildren."

Sasun was a Volunteer/Humanitarian Aid & war relief worker during the Armenian Azerbaijan war in Nagorno Karabakh. He would do his best to help everyone he came across. I new him personally as most journalists working during the war did as he would help even journalists do their work. I remember one night when Azerbaijan attacked a civilian area in Steponikert a home was burning. At that moment I Wanted to go film what had happened. Sasun heard me talking about going and he convinced me not to go as it was too dangerous. A little while later there was another attack. It is very possible that Sasun saved my life.Sasun was killed by Azerbaijan on the last day of the war leaving behind a wife and 2 small children.

Chersonesus (Ancient Greek: Χερσόνησος, translit. Khersónēsos; Latin: Chersonesus; modern Russian and Ukrainian: Херсонес, Khersones; also rendered as Chersonese, Chersonesos), in medieval Greek contracted to Cherson (Χερσών; Old East Slavic: Корсунь, Korsun) is an ancient Greek colony founded approximately 2,500 years ago in the southwestern part of the Crimean Peninsula. The colony was established in the 6th century BC by settlers from Heraclea Pontica.

The ancient city is located on the shore of the Black Sea at the outskirts of Sevastopol on the Crimean Peninsula, where it is referred to as Khersones. It has been nicknamed the "Ukrainian Pompeii".[1] The site is now part of the National Preserve of Tauric Chersonesos. The name Chersonesos in Greek means "peninsula", and aptly describes the site on which the colony was established. It should not be confused with the Tauric Chersonese, the name often applied to the whole of the southern Crimea.

We are a family of journalists living in Donetsk close to the front line of the Ukraine war. We are independent journalists who allso conduct humanitarian aid distributions. Olga is is the hospital now, for the fourth time. The doctors say the baby needs to come soon one way or another. So it should be any time now. After the baby is born Olga may need to have a kidney removed. We all pray everyday so we know all will be ok, but we are still nervous. Many of our friends & family around the world have asked how the can help with the expenses for baby, hospital, college fund & give baby shower gifts. This week Ukraine has purportedly(Russia Forces Claim) fired USA Made HIMARS Rockets on the Antonov Bridge that To Kherson & Nikolaiv / Odessa Front. In this report I am on the bridge showing you the facts and hearing from the current(Russian placed) governor of the Kherson Region. It should be noted that Ukraine says it was not HMARS but the USA supplied 155 mm Excalibur. Both were given to Ukraine by the USA.
Another note, This bridge connects Kherson and the Nikolaevo-Odessa direction with the overland route to the Crimea.
