Chersonesus (Ancient Greek: Χερσόνησος, translit. Khersónēsos; Latin: Chersonesus; modern Russian and Ukrainian: Херсонес, Khersones; also rendered as Chersonese, Chersonesos), in medieval Greek contracted to Cherson (Χερσών; Old East Slavic: Корсунь, Korsun) is an ancient Greek colony founded approximately 2,500 years ago in the southwestern part of the Crimean Peninsula. The colony was established in the 6th century BC by settlers from Heraclea Pontica.

The ancient city is located on the shore of the Black Sea at the outskirts of Sevastopol on the Crimean Peninsula, where it is referred to as Khersones. It has been nicknamed the "Ukrainian Pompeii".[1] The site is now part of the National Preserve of Tauric Chersonesos. The name Chersonesos in Greek means "peninsula", and aptly describes the site on which the colony was established. It should not be confused with the Tauric Chersonese, the name often applied to the whole of the southern Crimea.

The Kharkov / Kharkiv Region is a very important area for Russia and despite losing control of most of the Region last month the battles for control rage on and Russia continues to hammer Ukrainian forces there with heavy artillery in an attempt to regain control of the area. Martial Law has been in place since 2014 in the Donetsk and Lugansk Peoples's Republics so Putin's announcement means nothing for the people that live there and this is confirmed by the acting heads of the republics Wagner mercenary group leader , said Wednesday that the private military contractor was “forming a people's militia” in Russia’s Belgorod region on the Ukrainian border to help protect Russia. Ukrainians told to 'charge everything' 30% of Ukraine's power grid destroyed by Russia as Putin to step up power plant attacks amid blackout fears.
The Russian-placed leadership of the Kherson are evacuating civilians as battle looms. About 50,000 to 60,000 people Have been moved, said Vladimir Saldo, the Russian-installed chief of Kherson.

Armenian Volunteer/Humanitarian Aid war relief worker killed by Azerbaijan

The day the war ended Gogo called his son Sasun but someone Unkown answered and said I killed your Son" and ""I will kill you and your grandchildren."

Sasun was a Volunteer/Humanitarian Aid & war relief worker during the Armenian Azerbaijan war in Nagorno Karabakh. He would do his best to help everyone he came across. I new him personally as most journalists working during the war did as he would help even journalists do their work. I remember one night when Azerbaijan attacked a civilian area in Steponikert a home was burning. At that moment I Wanted to go film what had happened. Sasun heard me talking about going and he convinced me not to go as it was too dangerous. A little while later there was another attack. It is very possible that Sasun saved my life.Sasun was killed by Azerbaijan on the last day of the war leaving behind a wife and 2 small children.

"That is the definition of taxation without representation." The new state would be named "Washington, Douglass Commonwealth" after George Washington, the first U.S. president, and Frederick Douglass, a former enslaved person who became a famous abolitionist.The U.S. Constitution provided for a federal district under the exclusive jurisdiction of U.S. Congress; the district is therefore not a part of any U.S. state (nor is it one itself). The signing of the Residence Act on July 16, 1790, approved the creation of a capital district.
We spent time outside the Whitehouse, BLM Plaza, and the US capital taking to Americans and asking them what they thought. Although most seemed for it there was still very different opinions on the issue

Days ago the Generals in the Armenia army demanded the Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, resign then he accused them of a coup attempt. and since the opposition protesters have stayed in a tent camp and had bid meetings while closing and occupying the street outside the national assembly or parliament.. In the southern part of Armenia in the Syunik Province, there is a highway that runs back and forth between "Official" Azerbaijan territory and Armenian Territory. In reality, this area was inhabited by Armenians. After the trilateral agreement between Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia, that brought an end to the Armenia Azerbaijan War, Azerbaijan started to kick Armenians out of their homes and off the "Official" Azerbaijan Land. This is not permitted by the trilateral agreement but no-one stopped them from doing it anyway. There is one village, Shurnukh, in this area that the "Official" border goes through the middle of the town. In this village, there are 45 families(as told to us by locals) and 11 of these Azerbaijan has stolen their homes. This area is very tense as the war is not far in the past but never the less we traveled there to show you the reality of what is and has happened there. There were some moments that were a bit scary not knowing what country we were in. We spoke to a family whose home was stolen by Azerbaijan.
