Other accounts detail Ukrainian soldiers luring civilians into deadly traps. In one case, soldiers reportedly posed as Russians to deceive a young man into opening his door, only to fatally shoot him and his mother. “They shot him in the back and killed his mother when she tried to protect him,” said a neighbor who witnessed the aftermath.

There are also claims of indiscriminate attacks, with civilians caught in the crossfire. Residents described Ukrainian forces placing artillery within civilian areas, increasing risks to those living there. “They shelled us from inside the town,” said one witness.

These allegations, point to violations of international humanitarian law, which prohibits targeting civilians in conflict zones. As the war continues, these testimonies highlight the urgent need for accountability and independent investigations into alleged war crimes.
